As part of its Hospitality and Commercial Business, PT Modern Realty Tbk is committed to developing Heritage Walk culinary attraction at Candra Naya building, a cultural heritage site in North Jakarta. The purpose is clear: to protect this historical building, preserving it so that the future generations can marvel at its splendor. Candra Naya’s legacy can be traced back to its long history. The building was built in 1807 by Khouw Thian Sek to celebrate the birth of his son, Khouw Tjeng Tjoan in 1808. Once a house for Chinese businessman and banker Khouw Kim An, over the years it had served as a school, a healthcare center and a gym. Unfortunately, similar to other age-old establishments, it slowly fell into decay until Modernland entered the picture. Today, the Company has restored Candra Naya to its former glory. Scheduled to open in 2013, Heritage Walk will offer a rich selection of local, oriental and western delicacies. With its pristine condition, the venue shall live up to its namesake by providing a truly unique and refined experience for all.
